How to maintain a sex doll ?

Maintaining a high quality sex doll is not difficult when you know how. By keeping your girl clean and undamaged you'll keep yourself and your doll healthy, and you'll extend her lifespan by years! Below is our guide to keeping your silicone dolls in top condition.

How Often To Clean a Doll?

Cleaning your doll is the most important part. Nevertheless, making sure that your doll stays fresh and clean should be balanced with ensuring the lifespan to be as long as possible. Longevity and hygiene should be well balanced.

We recommend cleaning your doll directly after every use and that cleaning is done at set intervals every 2-4 weeks as a minimum (Regardless of usage)  so the doll is not going to be damaged from excessive cleaning.

Cleaning Materials To Use

There may be other products to use when cleaning your doll. This is simply a list of some suggestions and tips for you to consider.

Antibacterial soap

Water

Talcum powder (baby powder)

Light sponge

A second sponge cut up into smaller swabs

A non-abrasive drying cloth

Medical pincers

Strong paper towel

Remember that each doll comes delivered with a small cleaning kit including a vaginal irrigator.

Cleaning Dolls Body

We have found that the actual process of cleaning can be a vert therapeutic ritual. Many customers have found that the process can heighten the bond between you and your doll.

To avoid bacterial build up, we suggest a thorough clean every 14 days – depending on your usage, you may consider cleaning more frequently.

Antibacterial soap

Water

Talcum powder (baby powder)

Light sponge

A non-abrasive cloth

There are several techniques to consider when cleaning your doll. The most efficient method is  usually using your shower or bath tub. Depending on your confidence with lifting and positioning the doll, we recommend using a light sponge alongside antibacterial soap to gently wash your doll.

Please use light pressure when washing your doll. Preserving the skin is the most important part – so make sure you don’t get carried away while rubbing her body. If washing your doll, it is important that the neck and head do not get too wet, or submerged under water, as this could cause rust build up in the neck screws.

Cleaning Dolls Holes

Cleaning her vagina, anus and mouth is a delicate process with several techniques to expose these areas for cleaning. This method we suggest below seems to be one of the easiest and most efficient techniques, see below:

Coat a small swab sponge with warm water and antibacterial soap.

You can now use this sponge to clean the orifices. Insert the sponge using medical pincers into the orifice until is is clean

You can dispose of this sponge and now repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

After two swabs, the orifices should be clean, allowing you insert a second dry sponge to remove any excess soap or moisture.

Once you have successfully dried the doll, you can apply talcum powder to the exterior of the orifice.

All done. Your doll should now be clean and free from any bacteria or dirt.

Cleaning The Face Of The Doll

By removing the dolls head and wig, you can easily use a wet sponge with antibacterial soap to gently dap the face. You must be gentle, as you do not want to cause any unnecessarily damage to the doll.

Only clean small sections of the dolls head at once. It is important to keep the eyes dry, which is why you must not use too much water.

When you are happy with the cleanliness, you can leave the head to dry own its own accord. If it is still damp after a couple of hours, use a dry cloth to get rid of the moisture.

Drying A Doll After Cleaning

Dry skin on your doll is extremely important after you wash her. When wet, the skin is much more prone to tears and abrasions.

Using a light non-abrasive material to gently pat her down, focus on removing most of the water from the body as the rest will be natural.

Set your doll down and leave to dry for an hour or two to ensure most of the moisture has gone. You can now apply the talcum powder all over her body, which will give her a natural fragrance and a soft touch.

Things To Avoid While Cleaning

The correct cleaning and maintenance methods are essential, for your doll to live a long and healthy life. So far we have covered what do to, below are a list of things to avoid when cleaning.

Using any old cleaning agent- There are certain cleaning products that will have a negative reaction to TPE. Antibacterial soap is recommended. If you are unsure about a cleaning agent, please contact us before using it.

Keep away from sharp objects – TPE is a very delicate material, which can tare easily. When storing or cleaning the doll, keep away from anything sharp.

Keep the head above water – as there are sections on the dolls face which need to remain dry, the head must never be fully submerged underwater.

Dry with care – TPE can easily tare when drying. As the TPE will be warmer than usual, please take extra care, as the material is more susceptible at this temperature. Only use a dry cloth for drying, remembering not to apply too much pressure.

It is very important that your doll dries naturally. Under no circumstances should any electric air dryer be used as this will damage the doll.

Cleaning The Dolls Hair/Wig?

Cleaning the wig is very much like cleaning actual hair, and the process could not be easier. You will need standard hair cleaning products. For best results and to increase the longevity of the wig, we recommend using mild hair products.

Before you start the cleaning process, remove the wig from the doll. Clean the wig with shampoo and conditioner. Wash out all the shampoo and then leave to dry. For best results, place the wig on a stand if possible.

After you have left the wig to dry, using a comb, gently comb through, being careful of any knots. Pulling through the knots with too much pressure will damage the wig.

Clothing & Avoiding Stains

One of the biggest problems we’ve heard from customers is staining. Both TPE and Silicone will very readily absorb any colour from clothes. Ensuring you have washed the clothes to minimise any risk of staining is paramount.

Only use clothing that is unlikely to transmit colour. All clothing must be cleaned before dressing the doll, as this will prevent any stains.

Once you are satisfied with the clothes and materials intended for the doll, you must ensure that the clothes are dry. If there is any excess water or damp on the clothing, it will stain the dolls skin.

In fact, the above will apply to anything that comes in contact with the dolls skin, so please take extra care when the doll comes into contact with any fabric.

Storage

There are a number of ways to store your doll. In order to keep your doll pristine, there is a set of criteria which you must adhere to:

Sunlight – too much sunlight will cause ware and tare to the TPE, causing the TPE to degrade faster than usual.

Dust – the skin of your doll will easily collect dust stick to it. We recommend storing the doll in a storage bag or in the original product box as dust can be extremely difficult to remove.

Ink – If you are to store the doll in a storage bag, please be careful regarding the colours. As the doll will be in the storage bag for long periods of time, colours are likely to transfer from the bag if the wrong material is used.
